OIS Studio — the Organisation Runtime.
OIS Studio is not a visual editor. It is the place where people collaborate with their organisation. People should collaborate with their organisation, not manage disconnected software.
What OIS Studio is
OIS Studio is where the organisation becomes visible. Instead of separate tools, logs and dashboards, you see one organisation: its Domains, their health and priorities, the risks, the evidence behind every signal, the recommendations, and the decisions that need a person. You do not manage software — you walk into your organisation.
Why it is called the Runtime
A runtime is where something actually runs. OIS Studio is the live environment in which an organisation observes, understands, recommends and learns — continuously, under human authority. The specialised intelligences are the implementation underneath; Studio is the place where people stand and collaborate with what the organisation knows.
How an organisation becomes visible — Domains
An organisation appears as Domains: areas of responsibility such as Editorial, Legal Matters, Trust, Operations, Commercial and Compliance. Each Domain exposes the same Constitutional Contract — health, priorities, risks, decisions and evidence — and Studio shows them side by side, so the whole organisation is legible at a glance.
What the Runtime shows
- Health — overall and per Domain
- Current priorities — what needs attention now
- Risks — what could go wrong
- Evidence — the source behind every signal
- Recommendations — advisory next steps
- Decisions required — choices awaiting a person
- Not measured — what was not connected or analysed
The runtime cycle
OIS recommends; humans decide. The decision, the outcome and what to learn close the loop — and every step is traceable to its evidence.
Live, pending and not measured
Live
What is currently active and being measured from real data.
Pending
What is set up but not yet running — shown as pending, never as if it were live.
Not measured
What was not connected, analysed or verified — shown plainly, never hidden.
Needs human authority
Decisions and approvals that only a person may give.
Different organisations, different emphasis
| Organisation | Centre of gravity |
|---|---|
| Newsroom | Observe → Understand → Recommend |
| Legal operations | Decision → Outcome |
| Municipality | Observe → Route → Resolve |
| Business operations | Obligation → Decision → Outcome |
Human authority
OIS recommends; humans decide. Every decision is traceable to the evidence it was based on, and every outcome can be learned from. No claim, message, publication or decision is automated — the person stays in control of every important step.
Honest-State in the Runtime
Studio must show uncertainty. There is no fake health and no fake confidence; missing data is visible, not disguised. If something cannot be measured, the Runtime says so — because a dashboard that hides what it does not know is worse than no dashboard at all.
Example: a Runtime screen (conceptual)
- Organisation Health — 82% (4 of 6 Domains instrumented)
- Domains — Editorial, Trust, Operations, Commercial …
- Today’s priorities — what needs attention now
- Risks — overdue obligations, stale coverage
- Decisions required — two awaiting a person
- Not measured — payroll, private mailboxes, HR confidential
